Shopify CRO
Shopify CRO Agency
We find what stops shoppers from buying on your Shopify store, then A/B test the fixes and keep only the ones that win. Every engagement starts with a CRO audit, and tests run on our free testing tool, so there's no testing app to pay for. We're a Shopify Partner, and we've run 8,000+ A/B tests, with a 61.1% win rate across 2,288 audited tests.

TL;DR
What does a Shopify CRO agency do?
A Shopify CRO agency finds what stops shoppers from buying on your store, then A/B tests fixes so you keep only the changes that raise sales.
- ConversionTeam starts every Shopify engagement with a CRO audit, then runs A/B tests from its findings, from $2,500 a month with the audit included.
- Tests run on Nantu, our free testing tool, through Google Tag Manager, so there is no testing app fee on top.
- Across 8,000+ A/B tests, 61.1% of our 2,288 audited tests won. Our Shopify results below run from +8.2% to +81.8%.
Bottom line: testing changes before they go into your theme means you only pay to build the ones that raise sales.
What we do
What do our Shopify CRO services include?
Two parts: a CRO audit that finds what's costing you sales, and an A/B testing program that proves which fixes work before you keep them.
A CRO audit of your store
Analytics review, user testing against a competitor, a poll, heatmaps and session recordings. You get a prioritized list of fixes, with the Shopify-specific checks on top.
What the audit checks on ShopifyA/B tests from that list
We design, build, QA and launch tests from the top of the list, read the results, and keep only the changes that win. For most tests we need none of your developers.
How the testing program runsWho it's for
Who is Shopify CRO for?
Shopify stores with enough orders to test, roughly 50 a month on the pages that matter, and a team that wants proof before rebuilding pages.
A good fit
- Stores on any Shopify plan, including Shopify Plus
- About 5,000 users or 50 orders a month on the pages you want to test
- Teams without an in-house CRO team: we bring strategy, design, development, QA and analysis
- Brands planning a redesign that want to test the changes before committing to them
Not a fit yet
- Stores with too little traffic to read a test in a reasonable time. Start with the audit and the bigger changes.
- Teams that only want a new theme built. A Shopify development agency is the better fit for that.
Where we work
What do we optimize on a Shopify store?
Every page between the first visit and the order: homepage, collection pages, product pages, cart, checkout and the thank-you page, on mobile and desktop.
The cart and checkout get extra attention. Baymard Institute's average across 50 studies puts online cart abandonment at 70.22% (Baymard Institute).
Homepage
We check which pages shoppers enter on first, then test the headline, the first screen and the links that move people to products.
Collection pages
Filters and sort on mobile, the default sort order, what each product card shows (price, reviews, variants) and how many products show before the first scroll.
Product pages
The buy box first: price, variant picker, add-to-cart, shipping and returns, reviews. Then the order of everything below it.
Cart
Shipping cost and delivery date before checkout, cart drawer or cart page, add-ons, and express checkout buttons placed so they don’t crowd out the main button.
Checkout
What we change depends on your Shopify plan (see the table below). The thank-you and order-status pages can be customized on every plan.
Mobile and speed
Every test is QA’d on phones and desktop, and results are read by device. The audit also times each template on a mid-range phone and counts the scripts your apps add.
Shopify Plus
What can you change on each Shopify plan?
Everything before checkout can be changed and tested on every plan. Apps that customize the checkout steps themselves need Shopify Plus.
| What you want to change | Basic plan or higher | Shopify Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Change and A/B test the homepage, collection pages, product pages and cart | Yes | Yes |
| Checkout editor: logo, colors and fonts on the checkout, thank-you and order-status pages | Yes | Yes |
| Apps that customize the thank-you and order-status pages | Yes | Yes |
| Apps that customize the information, shipping and payment steps of checkout | No | Yes |
| Checkout Branding API | No | Yes |
| A/B test the checkout steps through Google Tag Manager | No | No |

How do you choose a Shopify CRO agency?
Ask whether they audit before testing, publish a win rate, charge for a testing app, explain checkout limits, offer a guarantee and state a price.
We reviewed 11 Shopify CRO agency pages that rank in Google in October 2026. Here is what to look for, and where we stand.
| Question to ask | What to know | ConversionTeam |
|---|---|---|
| Do they audit before they test? | Tests should come from your store’s analytics and user research, not a generic list. | Every engagement starts with a CRO audit, included in the price. |
| Do they publish a win rate? | Of the 11 agency pages we reviewed, one states a test count (500+ experiments) and one shows win rates for three clients. | 61.1% across 2,288 audited tests, method published. |
| Who pays for the testing tool? | Shopify testing apps start at $69 to $99 a month and go up with traffic. | Nantu, our testing tool, is free. |
| What do they say about checkout? | Checkout steps can’t be A/B tested through a tag manager on any Shopify plan. | We say so up front and test the pages before checkout. |
| Is there a guarantee? | 2 of the 11 agency pages we reviewed offer one. | 30% lift in 90 days on Iterate, or up to 3 more months free. |
| What does it cost? | Published starting prices run $2,500 to $4,200 a month, and none of them includes the audit. | From $2,500 a month, audit included. |

Guarantee
What is the 30% lift guarantee?
If winning tests haven't delivered a 30% conversion rate improvement in your first 90 days of active testing, we keep working free for up to 3 more months.
The guarantee comes with our Iterate testing program. How Iterate works.
Testing
How does A/B testing work on Shopify?
Storefront tests run through Google Tag Manager on Nantu, our free testing tool. Checkout steps can't be tested that way on any Shopify plan.
That covers the homepage, collection pages, product pages and the cart, with no testing app to install. Shopify testing apps such as Intelligems and Shoplift start at $69 to $99 a month and go up with traffic. Nantu is free. Every test is checked for flicker before it launches.
For checkout, we say up front that the steps can't be tested through a tag manager, and put the testing into the pages before checkout. Testing doesn't conflict with SEO when it follows Google's guidance on website testing.
Tools we use
- Nantu: our free A/B testing tool, delivered through Google Tag Manager
- Google Tag Manager: delivers the tests and the tracking tags
- Google Analytics 4: measures every test, in your own account
- Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and session recordings
- Trymata: user testing on your store and a competitor’s
- Shopify collaborator access: store access that you control, without sharing a staff login

What our clients say
11 verified reviews on Google & Clutch
Responsive, timely, and the results and expertise speak for themselves. We bring them in across multiple client engagements.
Devon is a real CRO rockstar. He looks at a site and immediately hones in on the opportunities for improvement, and backs up every recommendation with testing. Highly recommend.
Mike BelascoFounder & AdvisorThey provide elaborate reporting on every test, with clear KPIs where we can identify winners to implement - conversion-rate increases, more ecommerce purchases, and higher engagement. Communication is easy and their project management is excellent.
Devon was a great partner when we needed to improve our website's user experience. His team gave us a thorough audit of our top pages and a free heatmapping tool we still use today. Highly recommend, especially if you're in lead gen.
Working through tests with ConversionTeam has been great. Their project management is top-notch, and their knowledge base is what stands out - we have no plans to change the relationship any time soon.
ConversionTeam was excellent to work with and delivered exactly what we were looking for. They ran a CRO audit of our site; their insight was incredibly valuable and helped us advance toward our goals with confidence. Professional, organized, and thorough.
ConversionTeam has had a significant impact on our conversion rate - a good uplift, and especially an increase in revenue. We're impressed with their personalized approach and deep understanding of our needs.
We're seeing 210x ROI and a 22% lift in conversion rate - it's hard to measure all of their impact. We sold out of almost all our stock; we weren't ready for the lift they'd provide. They run a tight ship and always come to meetings prepared.
I couldn't be more impressed. Their team ran an in-depth audit that identified high-value opportunities, then a game plan of A/B tests to validate them - and nearly every test they recommended outperformed the control. Rigorous and data-driven, no guesswork.
We've worked with ConversionTeam since 2018 and are very happy. Their collaborative spirit and out-of-the-box ideas have significantly amplified our CRO efforts and added new dimensions to our strategy.
An outstanding experience. When we went looking for help optimizing conversions, two people I hold in the highest regard - who don't even know each other - both recommended Devon. We've been blown away by their expertise, professionalism, and results.
